Vintage DrumsDrum Barossa drummers met in July to have a look at Terry Ayletts vintage drum collection. He has a special interest in MIJ. (made in Japan) or stencil drums. These are drums made in japan from the 60's onwards that were designed to be copies of the big American brands like Rodgers, Ludwig, and Slingerland. The big MIJ drum companies were Star- later amalgamated with Tama, Yamaha, and Pearl.
Big thank you to Terry and Gabby for their kind welcome and hospitality. We are all looking forward to our next meeting in August where he hope to have a bit of a hit out. Click here for more information on MIJ drums. Thanks to Tony Tervoert for hosting the Drum Barossa crew. A very informative evening talking about trigger options and construction, mesh heads, and Roland drum brains.
